Several years ago, I did a photo story about the Holy Trinity Monastery, located just up the road from me in Jordanville, NY. Years later, I would cover the funeral for the Metropolitan Laurus Skurla. While this Russian Orthodox Christian mecca draws people from around the globe, it feels like home away from home to me. Hard to believe it's been seventeen years since my first Blues Traveler show. Yes, I'm that old. Since then, I've managed to catch them several times, and have always had a memorable time. Trucks is God. Maybe it's too early to draw Clapton-esque conclusions here, but Derek Trucks left me teary eyed as I witnessed his God-given talent during Sunday's Mt. Jam line-up at Hunter Mountain.
