Last week, the third student in a month leapt to his death from a Cornell University bridge into a one of the city's famed gorges. This is also referred to as 'gorging'. A somber and startling story - I always enjoy the challenge of illustrating such heavy themes. The story reminded me of the Golden Gate Bridge suicide phenomena - people coming from all over the world to end their lives on that bridge. I find this topic fascinating and grotesque all at the same time - the decision to either redeem your life or end it. As one subject commented, "When it comes down to it, it's just not worth it. There's always another option. The way it affects everyone - it's unbelievable."

A touching and tragic essay Heather... even here in France I saw the stories about the Cornell suicides... tragic that young intelligent people become so despairing over pressure at school or love gone awry that they would make a choice with terrible finality... terrible for their families and friends as well...
But how are you Heather ? haven't heard hide nor hair from you for ages...
