Seaway Adventures

The assignment was to shoot a dam and a lock to preview the 50th anniversary of the St. Lawrence Seaway that is taking place this weekend in Massena, NY.
Sure, I can do that, but I always strive to do more.

I really wanted to make these engineering giants as photographically interesting as possible - looking for moments and rushing back to the lock after transmitting an initial edit to capture the only cargo ship to pass through the lock that day. But in the end it was a simple photo of the lock that was used the most by newspapers online. Go figure.

This guy worked as an engineer in the 1950's on the Dwight D. Eisenhower lock as it was being built!

This guy and his father said they'd been coming to the lock since 1971.

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Lock has a tunnel directly underneath! The silhouette of the cargo ship can be seen passing through the lock, above the tunnel.

Lots of wildlife at the Robert Moses State Park...

Now I see what you're saying about photo choices!

Looks like someone is having a ton of fun again out shooting... whatever the subject you bring it alive... a rare talent that.
